Business Information
Add your business details once and they appear on every invoice automatically. Set it up in minutes and never type it again.
Where to Set It Up
Go to My Account (click the Settings icon in the header) and click Edit to add or update your business details.
Required Details
These fields are required to create professional invoices:
Business Name
Your company name or trading name. This appears prominently at the top of every invoice.
Examples:
- Acme Design Studio Ltd
- Jane Smith Consulting
- Smith & Co
Email Address
Your account email address appears on invoices so clients know how to contact you. This is set when you create your account and appears automatically on all invoices.
Make sure to use a professional email address when you register:
- Good: hello@acmedesign.com, jane@janesmith.co.uk
- Avoid: janesmith123@gmail.com
Payment Instructions
Provide your payment details so clients know how to pay you. This information appears on all invoices.
UK Bank Transfer Example:
- Account name: Acme Consulting Ltd
- Sort code: 12-34-56
- Account number: 12345678
Alternative Payment Methods:
- PayPal: paypal.me/yourname
- Wise account details
- Revolut payment link
Optional (But Recommended)
These details are not required, but including them makes your invoices look more professional:
Business Address
Your business address (not your home address unless you work from home). This is important for:
- Professional appearance
- HMRC compliance for VAT invoices
- Building trust with new clients
If you work from home and do not want to display your home address, consider using a virtual office address or coworking space address.
Phone Number
A phone number where clients can reach you. Use a business number or professional mobile number.
Company Registration Number
If you are a limited company registered with Companies House, include your company registration number. This is required by law to appear on business documents including invoices.
VAT Number
If you are VAT registered, add your VAT number here. It will appear on all invoices automatically. See the VAT & Tax guide for more details.
How It Works
Once you save your business information:
- It appears automatically on every new invoice you create
- You can update it anytime from My Account
- Changes apply to future invoices (not retroactively to issued invoices)
- Your details appear on PDF downloads and client invoice views
Pro Tip
Complete your business information before creating your first invoice. This saves time and ensures every invoice is professional from day one. You can always update details later if anything changes.
Privacy and Security
Your business information is:
- Private: Only visible to you and clients who receive your invoices
- Secure: Stored encrypted and never shared with third parties
- Editable: Update or remove any information anytime
