Creating Your First Invoice
Creating an invoice is quick and straightforward. Fill in the required details and save as draft.
Steps:
- 1. Add client detailsClient name is required. Business name, email, address, and additional info are optional
- 2. Set invoice settingsChoose currency (defaults to your account setting), issue date, tax point date, and due date (calculated from your payment terms)
- 3. Configure VAT settings (optional)Enable reverse charge VAT for B2B international services if applicable
- 4. Add line itemsDescription, quantity, unit price, and tax rate. Add multiple items as needed (up to 100)
- 5. Add notes (optional)Include any payment instructions or additional information
- 6. Save as draftReview the calculated totals and click 'Save as Draft'
Tips:
- Currency and payment terms are automatically set from your account settings
- Tax point date is required for VAT reporting and defaults to the issue date
- Use clear, specific descriptions so clients know exactly what they're paying for
- Saving as draft does not send any emails or issue the invoice to your client
- You can add up to 100 line items per invoice
- Tax rates can be set individually for each line item, or use reverse charge for B2B international services
